HIVE is RMIT’s student-led, multidisciplinary rocketry team initially formed as an entrance to the inaugural Australian Universities Rocket Competition (AURC) where it placed first in the 30,000ft category.
The team is comprised of over 50 students across six teams: Structural, Flight Systems, Payload, Ground, Mission Control, and Business – all united in our love of rockets.
HIVE has since matured, as has its ambitions. The team has shifted its focus to promote the Australian space industry, becoming a platform to upskill the future generation of STEM leaders through rocketry in accordance with our values of opportunity, enterprise, and diversity.
Our goal is to be the first university team in the Southern Hemisphere to reach the Karman line.
